Environmental Reporting
Environmental reporting is a public disclosure by an organisation of its environmental performance. Such reports, as an example, provide a clear statement to governments (to demonstrate compliance against legislation and regulation), to the marketplace (to support brand reputation and market claims of an organisation committed to good environmental practices), and to the community (to indicate the company's support of community concerns with the local environment).
Many companies have moved from environmental reporting to Sustainability reporting covering environmental and social performance. Not only unique, the most widely recognised international framework for sustainability reporting is the Global Reporting Initiative.
For more information on the latest framework visit the GRI website.
GRI Australia are in the process of developing a new framework suited to SME. The BSA will seek to provide our BSA community with more information as it becomes available.
