Bio Innovation SA Business Development Initiative (BDI)

The Bio Innovation SA Business Development Initiative (BDI) assists early stage South Australian bioscience companies to develop their business with grants of up to $250,000.

Eligible activities for funding can include costs for starting a new company, costs for gaining specific professional advice and costs of experiments for proving commercial viability.

For grants over $50,000, the applicant must provide matching funds up to $1 for every $2 provided depending on the grant amount.

Business Sustainability Alliance Energy Efficiency Program

The BSA Energy Efficiency Program is a $300,000 commitment over three years by the South Australian Government to encourage businesses to become more aware about how they use and manage energy within their organisation.

The BSA Energy Efficiency program is aimed at small-to-medium South Australian companies committed to energy efficiency to help reduce their energy usage and related costs.

The program will enable a company to engage an accredited energy auditor, associated with the program, to conduct an energy assessment of their South Australian operation.

Each participating company will be supported in obtaining a detailed energy audit report containing the following information:

• An energy and greenhouse gas emissions profile including the identification of carbon risk and liabilities in line with the relevant reporting standards

• Advice on capturing and analysing performance data from energy systems, before and after improvement measure are undertaken

• Identification of energy efficiency opportunities within the company's operations

• Cost-benefit analysis of identified improvements

• A strategic action plan to implement recommended improvements

Successful applicants to the program will each be able to receive 75% of the costs of their energy assessments, up to $10,000 (excluding GST).

Cleantech Partnering Program

The Cleantech Partnering Program is a $2.15 million grant program to be delivered over three years from 2010-11. It helps small and medium enterprises take new cleantech products, processes and services from conception and early stage development through to market.

The following grants are available:

• CleverGreen Innovation Grant - up to $50,000 for proof-of-concept and commercial viability testing.

• CleverGreen Commercialisation Grant - up to $100,000 on a matched funding basis for commercialisation activities. Applicants will be linked to one of the following program partners with expertise in the field: Adelaide Research & Innovation, Flinders Partners, ITEK, Cleantech Ventures, Trans Tasman Commercialisation Fund.

The program will be delivered by DMITRE with Innovate SA providing mentoring, business advisory and product development services to successful CleverGreen Innovation Grant applicants.

Gateway Business Program

The Gateway Business Program is a South Australian Government program to assist established companies to export. It is a competitive program that provides successful applicants with a maximum of $20,000 to cover 50% of eligible costs to develop international markets including;

• Up to $10,000 to engage research for overseas markets
• Up to $5000 for marketing material (brochures, DVD etc) for overseas.
• Up to $10,000 for international trade shows (excluding travel & accommodation).
• Up to $5000 for adapting websites for international markets.
• Up to $5000 for export mentoring.
• Up to $2000 for travel & accommodation of incoming buyers.

Applications must be lodged before a project commences.

To be eligible, applicants must have been in business for at least two years with revenue of more than $150,000 a year.

Medical Device Partnering Program

Following a recent announcement by the South Australian State Government, this Program will no longer be open to new applications.

 

Small and Medium Enterprise Investment Development Program (SMEIDP)

Following a recent announcement by the South Australian State Government, the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Program will no longer be open to new applications.

 

Sustainable Markets Grants

The Industry Investment Program has been established to maximise the use of resources through:

  • increased recycling, and improvements to the quality and efficiency of recycling processes
  • developing markets and new technologies for using recycled materials.

Who: The program is open to all organisations that produce, manufacture or sell products with South Australian recycled content materials.

Zero Waste SA welcomes collaborative applications with project partners such as other industry organisations, associations and representatives from targeted market segments.

The Regional Development Infrastructure Fund (RDIF)

The Regional Development Infrastructure Fund (RDIF) provides up to 50% of costs for eligible infrastructure projects that have broad benefits for an industry or region. 

To be eligible, infrastructure projects must demonstrate significant economic benefits and can include projects for electricity, gas, telecommunications, transport, waste water & water.

Tomorrow Studio

The tomorrow studio provides subsidised office space to start up companies in the digital media industry. The level of subsidy is determined on a case by case basis. Successful applicants will relieve additional befit through workshops and group mentoring being held exclusively for the tenants.
